I don't know if I'm desperate for companionship or what, but I think I'm one step closer to providing someone my sincere feelings.
That feeling of wanting to be closer to someone, to talk them for hours on end is somewhat uncomfortable, but it's a realisation that you are getting to understand that person on a personal level.
The anticipation and anxiety of waiting for someone's phone call or text is exciting to me. As youths, excitement is our game. We have the urgent need to satisfy our insatiable hunger for exhilaration. Even though I take inter gender personal relationships very seriously, it's the uncertainty that is the best part of a relationship's journey. I really have no qualms about keeping my heart locked, but only to those that I trust the most.

Today someone just gave me a wake up call. I was taken down from my high horse an I realised how I've been a hypocrite.
People dish out comments about others everyday. Mostly good, but the bad ones are unfortunately, usually true. I receive more satisfactory remarks than unfavourable ones from people I meet and it has resulted me in reaching a point where I think is a detour from my path of life.
Being proud of yourself deters you from reaching success, even though you are aiming for it. It cuts you short because you think you are good enough. A modest person feels infinite, but anyone who refuses to listen and learn is finite.
A slap in the face, it was, but luckily not a very big one because the ego has not grown drastically over the past few months. I realise that the only thing I can do now is really rely on God and leave all my glory in his name. He was the one who blessed me with gifts, not myself. There is hard work on my part, but there is greater blessing from God. I shall not lean on my own understanding and trust the lord more than I should trust myself.

THROUGHOUT the tumultuous journey also knows as "studying for o levels", I have achieved somewhat exceptional and satisfactory results. I envisioned myself and dreamt of getting 11 or 48 points. Having prepared myself for becoming a 16 pointer, this bulldozer here has gotten 9 points. ^^ I'll be going to a school that I really like, and I really have to thank God and everything that helped me to get this. Yes, including you, the haterz.

I'm really excited for the days to come, it will surely be a splendid year consisting of school activities, making new friends, learning the subjects that I really like and am interested in and laneway festival!
I'm really excited and I still can't believe that I will be donning on the JC uniform (goodbye polkadot dresses) for a whole 2 years. I will miss wearing it already. I'm such a nerd.

OMG I'm really excited. It's always like this, I try to DSA into some school, I don't get shortlisted, I take the exams anyway and get into the school and the cca itself. It might turn out the same this time.

Everybody says JC will be really fun/stressful/ where you meet the love of you life/where you find yourself. I hope it will be the same for me, if not better. OH WELL.

Hello. I'm back because I have a reason to blog again.

so i recently I've been blessed with a lot of rewards, and I'm on a rolllll babyyyy

After 8 papers of SS every saturday and constant source-basing, on a recent test, this noodle right here has gotten herself a FREAKING 19/25 FOR SS!

That's not the best part, surprisingly. Normally my luck ends around here. Heck, my luck actually ends when I get 15/25

After 6 months of hard work and humuliation, disappointments and sleepless nights, this chicken has gotten herself a FREAKING A1 FOR CHINESE O LEVELS~!

I want to thank Mrs Yap (my tuition teacher), Ms Zee (my chinese teacher), my mom, my family, my classmates, those who encouraged me, my HATERZX and God, whom without all of this would not have been possible).

I was over the moon. Words can't express how I feel. I've worked so hard. I never think I've worked so hard for chinese. EVER. But from all of this, I can safely say that hardwork DOES pay off. Because it happened to me. To all those who have low self-esteem, think that they are worthless and everybody is better than yourself, try hard. Try VERY VERY hard. Because that'll be the only way you'll get yourself out of the state that you are in. That'll be the only way people will respect you.

From sec one, we were just puny little kids. We had no idea who we were and we were in for. The image is little blurry to me, but I remember we had to run one round and stand in front of the teachers to say why we wanted to join dance. People were cracking their heads as to what they would say. I didn’t think of it. It was instinct.

I'm excited about auditioning because if I do get in:

1.I get to finally realize my dreams.

2. I get to debut in a company with u-kiss

3. I can enjoy their awesome culture and weather.

4. I can go on their hilarious variety shows.

5. Work hard so our group is loved and recognized.

BUT!

There are some groups like after school who are so frigging good and talented at least more than fx and they have NEVER won 1st. I think it's quite insulting and unfair but hey it's show biz. Which proves that you may not have the luck unless you are in a good company. Let's just say ukiss since idk they are one of the most underrated. Cough cough.

Also, what happened to Xander and kibum. What if I'm not good enough for a certain comeback and they cut me off!? I'd have no job and no income, my family would be outraged, ppl will look down on me and I have to go poly or jc when I'm like what, 21!? I might lose massive amount of confidence in myself.

Why if we don't get 1st like ukiss no matter how hard we try cos fans don't like the song the company picked out for us? We have no say. I'd be itching to rebel and work on the songs ourselves and put my relationship with the company at risk. What if I get into a lawsuit with them?!

There are so many doubtful questions regarding this company's audition. I was so excited but this made me think twice.

I like Xander and kibum, but honestly, the company did not fire them for no good reason. They were lacking in singing, which I think an idol is naturally supposed to do. In a way, nh is doing both of them a favour because with the huge amount of talented grps coming out, ukiss might just get sufked out and castaway. I realize that Nh doesn't know that what the fans know wont kill them. I mean come on! There are tons of idols out there who can't sing and can still remain in the group! But if I were Nh I'd feel burdensome since those two do not make substantial performing arts talent contributions. After all, Salaries, overseas expenses, photoshoots and music videos. Have you realized how impeccable their music video sets are Evelyn though Nh might be cheap at times. Have you wondered about the massive amount if effort and time put into making an album?!?! Financial burdens aside, They're funny and friendly, which us good for fanservice.

Nh wants to do ballads: Nh chose to do it because they could show a different side to ukiss aka revamp style aka make ppl recognise them aka untaint public opinion of ukiss aka make them popular aka make Nh popular and bring in revenue.

Sigh. It's all what the company wants!!! This is te exact reason why I find yg such a bloody awesome company. It is probably on of the best in the WORLD.

The company makes sure to groom suitable candidates for their music direction, aka making sure their artists like hiphop genres. They also make sure that members' needs are well taken care of, physically, emotionally, socially and career-wise. Yg doesn't make them look cheap, but respected an down to earth artists. Under yg you are sure to get somewhat a formidable amount of respect. They value the quality of music and don't over dilute the industry. I can safely say they set trends so bloody influentially. They have impeccable timing, such that they can stroll down like a boss while the rest ate caught up in what seems like arms race for popularity and reputation. I salute yg.

Reading all these made me feel uncomfortable about Nh media and how restricted and angry I feel towards idols. Made me want to stop thinking about Nh and focus on yg.

But I love ukiss. It's still not worth to throw away my future for ppl I've never met and may not love me back.

SMSS MODERN DANCE (Y)

SYF`11 Did not start from this year, 2010 or even the last SYF. It started when the CCA was first created. For the past 4 SYFs, we have attained a silver. That would mean 8 years. When I first joined in 2008, it was all new to me and I haven't experienced the fierceness of the competition, yet.

SYF`09 was kinda not as special to me as to other dancers. I had missed all the dance trainings in the holidays so I ended up with little roles, but having a part was worthwhile. Immediately after we finished that SYF, many of us and the seniors cried buckets (pun). I just stood around and comforted my dancemates, but I was happy as well. Those who had cried had seriously gone through a lot, because that year we had Mr Soh, who was our resident Hitler, but chinese. They received scoldings and embarrassment from him as long as they did not meet his expectations. We still attained SILVER despite all the excitement about getting GOLD. I remember we were so 'on' about going to UCC to hear our results. We sat in one row and clasped our hands till they turned white. Our heart was pounding so furiously in our chest. The announcer read:(i remember it was a lady's voice)

Silver.

Our hearts just dropped, like that. Honestly, I was secretly expecting all the way that we would get silver. I never told anyone because I would rather let them think the way they think, so that their experience of SYF was truly theirs, but not another person's influences or ideas.

Initially, I didn't cry. Nada. Not a single drop. Once I heard Alicia and Yu Xuan sobbing, the waterworks just came and I cried like a baby. It was so embarrassing but heartbreaking as well. I couldn't stand it that other people's hard work was washed away like that.

When we received the comments mainly of not pointing the feet and the most outrageous of all was the costume. (??) Mr Soh had designed it for us! It's not our fault that we had to wear the costume. I now feel different because we shouldn't blame someone else's work because it is a learning experience for all of us, including the teachers.

What was not apparently seen, was the effort of a group of our seniors. Not putting their full effort in to the dance was one of the biggest disappointments in my 4 years in SMSSMD. Their reason? They didn't like the dance.

No offense to my seniors, but If I were to be given a dance/choreography/costume that wasn't appealing enough for me, I don't drop all the hard work I had for 3 years and give it up. I would work the ugliness in a way that is attractive to the audience. Seriously, I think this is the worst kind of attitude. But I can't blame them because our dance was so... unrelatable. The theme for 2009 was Energetic and full of enthusiasm, our youths are constantly seeking opportunities to showcase their multifarious talents as they strive to work towards a better tomorrow.

I couldn't see our dance in a way that was youthful, but the theme was hard to follow in my opinion. Alas, I present you SMSS Modern Dance 2009.

After watching the video, I saw quite a number of mistakes, but they weren't on a catastrophe level. But I think we did quite good ^^:D

I actually like the choreography of the dance and the music! It's so intense. I like the style and the fierceness. I wished I had been given more parts to dance because I really love the choreography.

The rest of the year the sec fours decided that we would change our CCA and not follow our seniors past mistakes. We got closer to the juniors because we knew that an unbonded CCA would not stand well in times of difficulties. We emphasised working hard for ourselves and not for the sake of showing off. We learnt about humuliation and passed down our knowledge and experience to the juniors.

It was hard for Lim Shan and I was the chairperson and vice-chairperson respectively, but I'm glad that we pulled through came through with good results, as seen from our juniors.

SYF started early in the holidays and I was lucky enough not to miss the first part, which was casting. I liked Miss Fong's choreography for the first part, actually for most of the piece. the buckets and cloth thing were not very appealing to me at first, but I grew to love the creativity and its uniqueness. The months went on... and we learnt many things in the process.Once we finished the piece, it became a drag and we were bored for february because for the whole month we were just revising. However, I loved how we never let our guard down and become lazy. I think we influenced the juniors with our never ending fiery for dance. It was important that during the times when things can get slow and null, we have to put our best foot forward. We told them about the humuliation we faced at schools' combined practices because out of RV and NJ who were elite schools, we were all messy and uncoordinated. All the frustration and glory we experienced, we told the juniors about them in hope that they would not experience the same thing as us. However, without tasting the taste of failure, you will never reach greater heights, but I'll come to that later.

At combined training, we totally killed it because Mr Soh PRAISED US. We thought because he did not teach us this year, but we genuinely meant it. You know how big of deal it was? It was a lot to the sec fours. He seldom praised us. Apparently our technique improved a lot (thanks to ms fong!!)!

This year's schools that participated were NJ, RV, GREENDALE, DEYI.

Nj deproved and their music was meh. Choreography was good though!

RVJC was good, music was good. But was a little messy and choreo was distorted, making the moves look unclear. Concept is good though.

RV guys. I LOVE EVERYTHING. The high difficulty-wushu choreography, the naruto-esque music, the fierceness and passion (EXPRESSION ZOMG) that was seen clearly. It truly showed how much they improved from matsuri, their previous "welcome to japan" style.

RV girls. EXPRESSION, CHECK. Graceful and consistent, was very very power. Sexy chinese music, I like.

Greendale. Honestly, I didn't really enjoy the dance because mainly they have no expression. The music was not my taste, But the costumes were these cool acrobatic-ish and in deep blue sheen. But they had low morale because they knew that they had a lot to work on.

Deyi. Music was awezome!!!!! props were cool. road signs. Mr Soh had kewl choreo for this. Energy was there!!

St. Margs. OKAY HAHA this is gonna be weird. I think it's gonna be biased because of obvious reasons. My dance style is very different from this dance.

Energy: 17/20 (during combined trg)

Performance quality: 14/20

Expression: 15/20

I'd say was alrighty, but we could do better.

We did pretty badly for our SYF presentation which was on friday, 3 days before SYF. We were super sad because we thought we'd get gold. But the nest day's trg on saturday was different. Could really tell that everyone was nervous and serious for the first time. We were bent on correcting our mistakes and truly pushed our mental strength.

was worried for angel because she couldn't seem to get it right. helped her with the counts along with alicia and brindebella. she was freaking out but we helped her get through it.

the sec fours thanked mr soh, ms fong, miss lin( and miss viv in spirit!) for all the hard work and dedication they helped in our CCA. Kinda awkward but I'm glad we did.

HOWEVER. THERE WAS AN EMERGENCY SITUATION.

Esther did not have her extra cloth right before the dance!!!!!!! LIKE BACKSTAGE ZOMG. everyone was freaking out. but we still went behind the curtains. the group at the right side curtains was practicing and encouraging each other. It felt kinda exciting but calm at the same time. I didn't know why, but I was incredibly... calm. I was scared that I was calm, which did not make sense. Nevertheless, we all kept our composure.

Standing in the wings, watching the school before us, was unreal.

Once we entered, I could feel the serenity of the dance. The emotion and everything, was cool and just adequate, Our energy was not being thrown off, but still flowing to the audience. I had made a few mistakes, one of them were quite major.

After the dance was over, nicole and isabelle and some ppl cried. Idk why i didn't, but I was truly HAPPYY!!!!!! WE FINISHED IT WITH ALL WE GOT! i was super high and i spent time with my mates because it was our last dance.

we had to wait for THREE WHOLE DAYS for our results. Nerve-wrecking and torturous. Gui Min and I had shared the same views that we'd get a silver. I feel kinda bad for telling everyone to not get their hopes up... But still, it's better to put yourself down so that if we do extremely well, it'd be an awesome lift up! Even if you do badly, you'd just say you expected it. Either way, you don't lose anything!

So we were so gan jiong, a lot of the ppl in our CCA came, we were the FIRST ROW I TELL YOU. AND I WAS SITTING IN THE CENTRE OF THE ENTIRE FREAKING HALL. Yeah. Peter Gn was there! I rmb him from the dance training I attended at CCAB. cool guy, loved his style of contemp. There was a long speech and discussion about the peices and they touched on many things but i dont remember!!!! OMG I'm DYING OF EXCITEMENT JUST TYPING THIS. ARHHHH

Frankly speaking, I have many friends, but not whom I'm really close with.

Evidence: I NEVER BOMB MY 500 SMSes.

I mean, cmon seriously. When sec 3 started, I've never really hung out with anyone.

I've just, stayed away.

At first it was just the impression of a prefect, then came the impression of being in a class next to triple science. Well you know what, all of that doesn't matter because I like to be alone.

Haha, actually everything DOES matter. But I truly like to be alone! It's comfortable being in my own skin and being able to do whatever I want without having anyone to criticise or judge me.

I sound like some anti-social freak. But I'm not gonna go into the whole "I think we all don't need friends" speech. I think we're way past that. But many of us sec fours just seem to live life like drinking water. If you think about it, we're already 16. We're practically legal. We're going to be ADULTS in two years. And two years ain't a lot. I think everyone should just calm down and not be so narrow-minded. I just can't stand people who think that they're 16 and they can go out party like gossip girls. OH PLEASE THE GIRLS DON'T EVEN PARTY LIKE YOU DO.

But I hate acting like I know it all, especially being a hypocrite. I mean it's other people's lives and I have no control whatsoever. But ultimately, only God can decide my future and I would leave it up to Him.

Guilty pleasure kicks in.

It's wonderful how someone can notice the most trivial thing about you and seem to turn it around just when life gets shammy. In sec 2, I just casually said to Sherilyn that I've always wanted to try macaroons. The next day, I see a bag of macaroons on my desk from BAKERZINN. Honestly, it did not look very appealing and by the time I could eat it, it was melted. From then onwards, I thought it was the worst traditional desert ever invented. However, last week my sister bought a box of macaroons and left it in the fridge. I wanted to try it again, to confirm my suspicions about the "delicacy".

Oh my heaven. It turned out spectacular like a soft and chewy brownie. I immediately regretted the time when I did not appreciate the macaroons Sherilyn gave me. Looking back, I was such a monster. BAKERZINN macaroons weren't bloody cheap as well!

SHERILYN: Thanks a lot and I will never forget the taste of friendship ^^

I gotta say-honestly, I detest going for training.

It's been getting better, but I feel so out of it, like I'm in a daze all the time or something.

Maybe it's the pressure, but there seems to be no pressure. I don't understand why I'm hesitating to prove that I am worthy of my leadership, but I can't seem to force myself to do so.

I remember the first time I went very vividly.

I went with the three most quirkiest people I've met and we had a ball of a time.

I guess we all clicked because our artistic tastes were similar to the queerness of the exhibition.

I'm going to bring a power camera and take power photos.

My dad got me a holga 120N for my xmas present and I'm overjoyed ^^

He's turned into this photographer overnight and it's pretty much his current obssession at the moment. It's great for both of us since we can talk a lot now, not that we never did before.

During the family trip to China/HK, he encouraged me to bring my fat-red-out-of-the-red plastic hole. I took loads, but since it was my first, my noob skillz caused me to lose half my film.

These were the three best ones. (The developer who developed my photos said they were good!!)
